China's first Science and Technology Industrial Base of Medical Devices settled in Ecology Business District of CNNZ on 5th Oct. It will take 3 years to make Chongqing an highland for technical innovation in medical devices industry and industrial agglomeration center, with its output value reaching 10 billion, as well as the industrial cluster of medical devices in western.

    Liu Yanhua, Vice Minister of Ministry of Science and Technology, Tong Xiaoping, Deputy Mayor of Chongqing Municipal Government, Wu Jianong, Vice President of Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Political Consultative Conference and Director of the Administration Committee of CNNZ attended the unveiling ceremony.

    The base will develop six product categories : ultrasonic teatment, micro-system treatment, blood purification, rehabilitation therapy, medical diagnostic and monitoring equipment and new-type medical materials, forming a characteristic industrial cluster. To meet the demand of technology, professionals, funds and market in the medical devices industry chain, relevant units will develop five supporting systems: development system of public technology of medical devices, service platform of industry incubator and investment and financing for medical innovative technology and products, quality inspection& certification and patents & standards service system of medical devices, trading platform for medical innovative technology and products in China and the Asian-Pacific region, professionals training system and training & introduction system of high-level professionals in medical devices industry. In addition, three demonstration projects, including the demonstration and application of medical devices in grass-roots units, large-scale popularization and application of mid and high end medical devices products and digitized demonstration and application of health regions, should be put in practice and the popularization, demonstration and application mechanism of domestic medical devices be built. It is expected to take 5 years to promote the output value in CQ medical devices industry to 20 billion.
